Avian & reptilian blood cells are much more complex than mammalian blood requiring more experience and time to analyze for disease and health. Avian and reptilian sample volumes usually are far smaller and difficult to work with. Most large vet labs are set up to move great numbers of samples through quickly, require larger sample volumes, and rearely have personnel trained to analyze avian and reptilian blood cells for toxicity, disease or health status in general. |
